Another Year of Books

Welcome to my blog. Where reading a lot of books is the goal.

Another library book find, another book that really is a beach read. While reading this book on the bus daily, I found myself wishing it were August so I could be sitting in the sand, SPF 75 on, a book in hand with the ocean in view.

Book Read: Falling Together
Author: Maria de los Santos
Number of Books Read: 30

Pen, Will and Cat became instant friends in college. They were so inseparable that people thought, well, they were all “together” if you catch my drift. In the few years out of college, this continued until Cat left, choosing her marriage over her friends.

Pen and Will couldn’t survive without Cat it seemed, and ended up parting ways not long after. But when a mysterious email from Cat convinces them both to attend their college reunion, an adventure awaits.

Cat doesn’t seem to want to be found, Pen is looking for adventure and friends she lost, Will is hoping he can finally speak up. And Cat’s husband Jason, is just kind of a douche who wants to find his wife.

Add in a five year old spit fire, a trip to the other side of the rode, a mother looking to move on, and past and present stories and you’ve got Falling Together.

If romantic, somewhat funny, books are your thing, de los Santos’ writing is for you. She keeps the book moving with a good pace, telling both stories from the past and the present with humor and wit. This one will pass the time and is an easy, light hearted read.

But like I mentioned, this is a beach read so keep that in mind when you decide to read it (at times, things go a little corny and I found myself going “UGH” out loud). So if you’re heading to the sun and sand, pick up Falling Together and don’t forget your sunscreen!
