When the weather is as bad as it has been in western PA (if you don’t live here, just let me tell you, it has not been good), all I want to do is curl up in a blanket and read (or watch Netflix - both are acceptable). But I still have to go to work, so I find a little joy in getting to the bus stop three minutes before it pulls up, finding a seat, and pulling out my current read for the next 30 minutes. If only it were acceptable to bring my blanket on the bus…
I’m 26 years old, and every year, I’m still asked what’s on my Christmas list. The answer is usually pretty standard: money, something I’ve been putting off buying, and books. Becoming was a Christmas gift (thanks, Mom), as was this next read (thanks, Aunt Barb), and the one after this (again, thanks Aunt Barb). My philosophy: there is plenty of room on my bookshelf, so no amount of books is too many.
It’s been awhile. At least it seems like it. 2019 is here, holiday decorations are coming down, the weather is see-sawing and can’t make up its mind, and right now, in Pennsylvania, it’s, frankly, frigid as heck.
